Elica d'Oro Ezio Selva

The Elica d'Oro Ezio Selva was established in 1958 by the Selva family in memory of their relative, a world-class powerboating champion, who tragically passed away during the second race valid for the "Orange Bowl Regatta" in Miami Beach.
The trophy is offered by the Ass. Mot. E. Selva and included in the program of the annual powerboating event in Sesto Calende and is reserved for Entrobordo Corsa LZ 2500 cc, distinguished by the new acronym R4 since 1970. The regulation provides for a single race with the trophy being awarded to the winning pilot for two times, even if not consecutive.
The Elica d'Oro E.S. was run continuously from 1958 to 1965, then it was resumed from 1968 to 1971. In the first edition the trophy was awarded to Cesare Maderna thanks to the victories obtained in 1960 and 1961, in the second edition to Fortunato Libanori with the victories of 1968 and 1969.
