In 2020, almost all powerboat competitions were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.

In this tragic year, Guido Romani left us. Romani had been unquestionably the true creator and organizer of the FIM "Historical Racing Boats" sector for about 20 years, a sector he established in 1998 with the aim of spreading the historical memory of racing boats of the past and promoting their recovery and restoration.

Guido, an expert in inboard technique together with his brother Roberto who passed away in 2012 and heirs of a large family of circuit racing boat drivers, has managed to involve around him an ever-growing number of passionate collectors who, several times a year, meet for their non-competitive exhibitions in the most important Italian and European racing fields.
